Recent poetic activities - January to April, 2016

As usual, I was distracted with many things and forgot to post several literary activities that happened during the past several months.

On the last Saturday of April (30th), Chicago Public Library sponsored my poetry workshop. I thank everybody who participated in my poetry workshop, "Mining Meditations and Dreams for Poetry". Several of my friends came from suburbs. In spite of the rainy weather, participants took time to come and remained engaged throughout. It is my second workshop at the grand Harold Washington Public Library, at Chicago. A big thanks to the organizers. Chris Abani, the key note speaker, was wonderful. I also enjoyed the Protest Poetry workshop by Samira Robinson, but am disappointed that I could not attend other worthy events. Once again, I am convinced that I do well on a rainy day.

The month of April is a fun month. I am always running around attending poetry events. Like past few years, I organized the National Poetry Month event for Naperville Writers Group. My heartfelt thanks goes to Caroline Johnson for a wonderful keynote talk, Bill Johnson for great music and Ray Simon for reading his own poems as well as carefully curated reading of poems from several issues of Rivulets. Thanks to all other readers, Mary Farmer and Mary Paliga for being great volunteers. Shout out to Naperville Writers Group and Naperville Public Library (Lisa Neilson in particular). This was our fifth official National Poetry Month event.

On March 20, 2016, Waterline Writers invited me to be one of the featured poets at the beautiful Waterstreet Studio in Batavia, Illinois. It is always a pleasure to visit this venue and listen to other authors and poets. They also take time to record and post the readings. you can listen to my reading athttps://vimeo.com/160648510.
