As a student of the late-night comedy culture of American TV, I noticed that comedians placed a lot of loving emphasis on the way Indian population went to the polls at the behest of the politicians. I enjoyed watching how people traveled to the polling places in bullock carts, overloaded scooters, etc. and fondly remembered the days of my own travels in India. I wished I could be there to munch at the nearby snack shops.
Inspired by those thoughts, I wrote a poem titled "Indian Election". It was published in the Spark Magazine: http://www.sparkthemagazine.com/?p=7031
