A trip to the Printers Row Book Fair

Attended the 2011 Chicago Tribune Printers' Row Book Fair last Saturday. It was hot and humid just like Kolkata. Attended a couple of interviews. Edwidge Danticat had an interesting take on the Haitian story. Learned about Cozy mystries. Caught the reading by University of Chicago poet Srikanth Reddy - liked it a lot. For the second year, DuPage Writers' Group had a nice booth with the Chicago Writers' Association. It was my first solo trip to Chicago by train. I had to ask a lot of obvious questions, but everybody was so nice. I was impressed by multiple women slipping into their work uniforms in the train and in the station rest rooms. I think I will do it again, but with some food and water in a backpack.
